Mercedes-Benz Museum specialexhibition for the IAA

The stars of transport and logistics are visiting the Mercedes-Benz Museum: from 18 October to 13 November a special exhibition will be showing the highlights of the current Daimler commercial vehicle range. The presentation of a total of 17 different vehicles follows on directly from the International Commercial Vehicle Show (IAA) 2016 in Hannover. The complete range, from compact vans to trucks and from minibuses to touring coaches, will be available to view free of charge around the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Vehicles from the current Daimler range of vehicles for the haulage, logistics and passenger transport sectors were amongst the stars of the leading exhibition worldwide for commercial vehicles in Hannover. The slogan for the 66th IAA International Commercial Vehicle Show, which took place from 22 to 29 September this year, was "Driven by ideas".

And now, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is allowing visitors to experience the current range of Daimler commercial vehicles with a special exhibition from 18 October to 13 November all around the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The outside area surrounding the building is being turned into an exhibition area for trucks and buses, people carriers and vans. Visitors will find the technical data on the individual exhibits on information boards along with other facts and figures about the main industry trade fairs and special exhibitions.

20 years on from its première, Actros, the long-distance heavy-duty truck, takes the stage with three different vehicles: the Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 LSNR tractor unit is powered by the OM 471 engine and delivers 350 kW (476 hp) from 12.8  litres displacement. It is joined by the Actros 1845 LS (OM 471, 330 kW/449 hp) and Actros 1846 LS (OM 470, 335 kW/455 hp) tractor units. The Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4143 K (OM 470 315 kW/428 hp) is on display as a four-axle tipper, alongside the Arocs 1846 LS, OM 470; 335 kW (455 hp).

In addition to the heavy-duty vehicles for the haulage and construction sectors, the Mercedes-Benz Museum will also be showing the range of medium and lightweight commercial vehicles at the special exhibition. This includes the Mercedes-Benz Antos 1833 L, the Mercedes-Benz Atego 1630 L and various vans and minivans from the Sprinter, Vito and Citan ranges. The Vito is represented both by the 114 CDI with the Kerstner GmbH refrigeration body as well as by the Tourer 116 CDI EDITION. Sprinter is present with the Sprinter 319 CDI 4x4, fitted out with a mobile storage system from Bott GmbH & Co. KG, the Sprinter 516 CDI with a steel three-way tipper from F. X. Meiller GmbH & Co. KG and the Sprinter 314 CDI with a box body from Junge Fahrzeugbau GmbH. Citan has two urban delivery vans on show: the Citan 111 CDI with the chilled foods body manufactured by Winter Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH, as well as the Citan 109 CDI with a mobile workshop fit-out from ALUCA GmbH.

Two bus and coach models are also on show: the Setra S 515 HD ComfortClass stands for touring at an unsurpassed level of comfort. This model will be on view from 19 to 26 October. The coach is powered by an OM 470 engine (315 kW/428 hp). From 4 to 14 November an Intouro rural-service bus (OM 936 engine, 220kW / 299 hp) will make a guest appearance. At a ceremony at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover, Mercedes-Benz handed over the 10,000th vehicle from this model range to its new owner.
